The summer holidays are upon us. For six long weeks, school aged children can spend their days doing; art and crafts, outside play, games, and going on fun outings. Luckily, Haarlem offers all kinds of exciting possibilities for children to enjoy, while you pack for vacation, or get on with your work. How fabulous is that!

De Toverknol – Theatre for children

If your child is creative and imaginative, this activity will be of great appeal.

23 –27 July and 20 – 31 August from 9:30am to 17:00pm
Ages: 5yrs to 9yrs
Cost: 55 euros per day

30 July to 3 August from 9:30am to 17:00pm
Ages: 6yrs to 9yrs
Cost: 275euros for the week ( inclusive of lunch, drinks and snacks)

Crafts and Cooking club

If your child enjoys cooking and/or crafts, then the craft and cooking club is the place for them.
Picking fresh fruit and baking them into tarts, picnics, and making slime, are amongst the many fun activities offered.
Date and times: 23, 24, 26, 30, 31 July en 2 August, 9:00am to 18:00pm. Children are welcome from 8:30am
Venue: Stuijvesantstraat 76, Haarlem
Ages: from 4yrs
Cost: 57,50 euros per day (including snacks, lunch and dinner, which will be prepared by the children)

The Little Gym

A wonderful place for young children to learn and enjoy gymnastic activities.
Following themes, such as ‘The treasure of the magic mountain’, and ‘The race to the universe’, your child will experience a gymnastic adventure.
Date: The entire duration of the summer holidays – every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Time: 09:00am to 12:00 noon or 13:00 to 16:00
You can choose to enroll your child for a morning session, an afternoon session, the whole day, or all of the above.
Venue: Zijlweg 148A, Haarlem
Ages: 2,5years to 8years
Cost: non-members – 30 euros per session, 58 euros per day (7 hours)
members – 25 euros per session, 48 euros per day.
Children who have been enrolled for the day should bring a packed lunch with them.

Young Engineers LEGO summer camp

Whether your child has an engineering mindset, or enjoys building, playing with Lego, or would simply like to learn how to follow algorithms , sign up for this program.
During the program, your child will create animals, cars, and fair ground attractions from Lego. They will attach a motor which will allow the children to animate their creations.
There will also be indoor games, outdoor games and watching interesting documentaries.

Date: 21 to 26 July ; 30 July to 2 August; 20 to 23 August; 27 to 30 August
Time: 09:00am to 15:30 (Individual days may be discussed)
Venue: Basisschool Sanyu Onderwijs, Korte Verspronckweg 7-9, Haarlem
Ages: 7yrs to 12 yrs ( 6yrs who have completed group 3)
Cost: 240 euros, inclusive lunch and snacks

RUIG Haarlem

During the first two weeks of the summer holidays, children can have fun in the dunes.
Who wouldn’t want to do that!?
Date: Wednesday 25 July and 1 August and Friday 27 July and 3 August.
There will be various groups:
RUIG MINI ( 3 and 4years); RUIG MAXI ( 5 to 8 years)
Time:  MINI group is from 10:30am – 12:00 noon / MAXI group is from  12:30 – 14:00
First come first serve as there are a limited amount of places in each group.
Cost: 17;50 euros per child or 30 euros if you book for two activities or enroll two children.
